In 10 minutes you could have know-how on treating
and preventing Alzheimer’s disease using natural
remedies in your own home.
Help Your loved One Gain More Control And
Live with Joy and Peace Instead of Fear and Despair
- Ensure that quality of life is maintained for as long as possible.
- Early diagnosis and treatment can do so much to treat memory loss and slow its progress.
Alzheimer's
disease (AD) is a major cause of dementia in the elderly. The disease
currently affects 12 million people worldwide with that number set to
sky rocket within the coming years as the world population ages
dramatically. On a global scale it is conservatively estimated that
there will be 22 million sufferers world wide by 2025.

These figures are frightening, but there is something that you can do.
You can work to help to reverse or slow the progress!
Prescribed
drugs generally keep the symptoms under control, but it is a scientific
fact that they lose their effectiveness over years of use.
They
improve Alzheimer's symptoms for a limited period – on average, about
nine months – but they have no effect on the progress of the underlying
disease. And their effect is variable – they work on some people but
not on others.

Consider
this, that many of the drugs used for treating Alzheimer’s disease have
some nasty side effects. Maybe someone you know has reacted to the
medication and has shown side effects such as the following. Dizziness
- Abnormal heart rate
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Headaches
- Increased blood pressure
And, furthermore many of the drugs cannot be used
if you or your loved one has a prior medical condition, such as, your
kidneys are impaired, history of seizures, asthma, high or low blood
pressure, peptic ulcer or Parkinson disease.
I Bet That You’re Frustrated
With This Disease
Old age should be about having wisdom, peace and happiness. You should
be able to enjoy good friends and family with many fond memories.
Do
you fear losing your mind, image not being able to persue your passion?
Do you dread a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease; you may even delay
seeking help because you can’t bear to hear the words spoken aloud.
These fears can get in the way of being able to enjoy an independent
life.
Do you lie in
bed at night wondering what on earth am I going to do? Make no mistake
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive disease and it is terminal, but
time is one of the biggest enemies.
Don’t wait until it’s too late to start the fight for the health of your brain.
There are many drugs to help you, but there is also some wonderful nondrug therapies that can be used safely along with drugs. These will enhance your quality of life.
Those not yet affected by this disease need to understand that there’re unconventional methods of dealing with the brain.
Natural treatments can potentially slow the progression of the disease.
As humans being, we are slowly realizing that treatments with
conventional medicine are not the be all and end all of healing. There is an alternative.
In short, we need to have a willingness to find out about the use of
natural remedies and alternative home remedies for better health.
'It is time we woke up to the fact that Alzheimer's is a preventable disease, not an inevitable part of ageing.'
Professor David Smith, Deputy Head, Medical Sciences Division, University of Oxford |
I
have lost some of my relatives to Alzheimer’s disease and I have felt
the pain of losing a loved one. Every day, I think that I have failed
them. There must have been something that I could have done!
As
a nurse I have spent the last 18 years working at ground level with
Alzheimer’s disease clients and their families. Often the clients have
been on medication for some time with no improvement. Surely, there must be something that we can do in the early stages to slow the process down or even reverse it.
The latest research programs reported that many scientists were researching the use of vitamins and supplements for treating the disease.
This
research led me on a path that gave me a greater understanding of the
human body and in particular the brain. The human body is a marvellous
thing and is capable of many things, if we have the knowledge and
willingness to make changes in our lives.
There’s an old saying that prevention is better than a cure! How true this is!
Early preventive measure is the key to beating this disease.
The
baby boomer generation has been highly successful in changing society
for the better and should be enjoying their retirement years. You don’t
want to be left feeling helpless and unable to enjoy life.
Fortunately, there are ways in which Alzheimer’s can be prevented, or have it’s progress slowed or halted in the early stages.
Do you feel like something is not quite right?
Have you noticed that things are not easy anymore?
Have a look at the warning signs and ask yourself do I suffer from any of these?
- memory loss that affects day-to-day function.
- difficulty performing familiar tasks.
- confusion about time and place.
- problems misplacing things.
- personality changes
Don’t be afraid there is hope that the symptoms can be reversed or slowed down.
You
have probably heard the saying that there is no cure for the disease
(this is what I believed!), however there have been reports of people beating the disease. What a marvelous thing. Imagine that! Not having to see your loved one or yourself slipping away.
Though
it can't be cured, there's increasing evidence that Alzheimer's disease
can be prevented – at least, the risk of it lowered. Alzheimer's
appears to be less likely in people who eat diet that is rich in
antioxidants, that is, with plenty of fruit and vegetables. People who
eat the so-called 'Mediterranean diet' for example – containing plenty
of fruit and vegetables, bread and pasta, fish, olive oil and a little
red wine, but low in dairy products and red meat – have a lower risk of
Alzheimer's disease. So do people who exercise regularly. These
activities tend to lower the risk of arteriosclerosis – disease of the
arteries – and hence may in some way help protect from Alzheimer's.
People
who keep mentally active – read, do crosswords, play board games, go to
the theatre and so on – also have a lower risk of Alzheimer's. So do
people who have good social networks. Alzheimer's has also been linked
to education levels – the more education the person has, the lower the
risk seems to be. Just why this is isn't known – though it may be that
mental stimulation helps keep neural networks in the brain from
deteriorating.
